Armed men attacked Abuja University (UNIABUJA) employees quarters of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In the attack early Tuesday, the perpetrators kidnapped six people, including two professors, one senior lecturer, and three of their family members.
The Chairman of the Union of Academic Staff of Universities (ASUU), UNIABUJA Chapter, Dr. Kassim Umaru, confirmed the incident and the kidnapping to Channels Televisión.
The hostages were identified as Professor Obansa and his son; Professor Oboscolo, his son and daughters, and Dr. Tobins.
"Please, we need your prayers for their safe return," the ASUU president said in a message.
The incident reportedly occurred around 1 a.m. in Giri's senior executive quarters at the Gwagwalada Area Council in the country's capital.
