Will Smith has resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences after he slapped Chris Rock on the 2022 Oscars.
The Hollywood actor, who's going through viable expulsion or suspension, chose to renounce instead. On Wednesday, March 30, the institution stated Will Smith had violated the Academy’s requirements of behavior and that he had 15 days to offer a written reaction explaining his movements.
The organisation stated Smith confronted suspension, expulsion or different sanctions. Will Smith has now replied to the Academy.
He issued an announcement acquired by The Hollywood Reporter on Friday afternoon, April 1.
