Troops conducting exercise GOLDEN DAWN neutralized one of the armed men of the Biafra National Guard who attacked the troop base in Amaekpu, Ohafia municipality, Abia state, on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
During the encounter, the troops neutralized a rifleman while others abandoned their vehicles and withdrew in a messy manner with gunshot wounds.
The Troops also secured a bomb weapon, among other things.
When the criminals withdrew and were overwhelmed, they were quickly intercepted in Eda by troops from the Ohaozara Forward Operations Base in Ebonyi State. The troops seized three other vehicles and arrested one of the gunmen.
